Description: From its original domestic civilian home in nearby Memphis comes this very attractive and distinctive early Taurus Revolver. From its 531000 range serial number, and from our sparse records of Spesco Imported Tauruses, it was manufactured in 1974. Manufacturer was Forjas Taurus S.A. of Porto Alegre, Brazil. Importer was Spesco Corp. of Atlanta, Georgia, the primary importer for Tauruses until International Distributors of Miami took the task on in the late 1970s. Named model is Falcon, the ancestor to the model 80. Construction is entirely steel metal, with factory imitation pearl grips. Finish is nickel, with case colored trigger and hammer. The Taurus model 80 and 82 revolvers were close copies of the Smith & Wesson Hand Ejectors, and made in Brazil on what we call 5 screw milling equipment. Type is double and single action revolver, with medium K size frame and round butt grip frame. Caliber is .38 Smith & Wesson Special, THE .38 Special. Cylinder capacity is 6 rounds. Note the serrated fluting and five screw construction of this very early Taurus. Front Sight is distinctive early Taurus, barrel-integral, serrated blade type, with serrated surface fixed notch frame integral rear sight. Hammer is old style hammer nose firing pin, serrated hump style spur, .250, with matching serrated face service trigger. Both parts are case colored, with substantial finish freckling. Barrel is 3 inch medium pencil type, pinned into the frame. Weight empty is 30 ounces, with center of gravity at the rear cylinder face. Surface detractions are only moderate, principally sight and muzzle edge finish blemishes, with extensive finish loss in the serrated curved area of the thumb latch. We rate this Taurus as Very Good, 80 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, cylinder chambers, and mechanism are all bright and clean. Double action trigger pull is smooth and consistent, and the hammer travels an additional 2 to 5 degrees after the cylinder times, even on a very slow double action pull. On single action, the hammer travels an additional 15 to 20 degrees on all six after the cylinder times; and the single action trigger pull measures at a stiff but crisp 7 1/2 pounds. From the moderate amount of carbon on this model 80’s cylinder face, we estimate it has been fired fewer than 200 times. This is a relatively scarce variant of the early Tauruses, and well preserved. We’re offering it for only $ 389.00. Not transferable to civilian residents of California, the District of Colombia, or Massachusetts. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $15 lower 48; $40 Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, USPS Priority, insured with Delivery Confirmation. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
