Piotti shotguns are considered Italian "BEST" guns and are equal to any double guns made in the world. Some say they even surpass a Purdey, though the same people have been called heretics as well! A full sidelock Holland style action, engraved by Italy's best, stocked to the fences, chopper lump barrels, action machined out of a solid billet of the best steel, all combine to make a fine game or clays gun. The "Monaco" is the very best quality side by side Piotti has to offer. The cost of ordering a new Monaco like this one would exceed $52,000. Finding a lightly used Monaco in 28ga. is a rare opportunity to own the finest small bore Italian guns made, at a fraction of the cost...and without the long wait for a newly ordered gun. This Piotti, serial number 9162 made around 1993, is nearly new with some fine options. The 28" chopper lump barrels retain 98% factory blue, mirror bores, .551 internal diameter both barrels, choked LM/LM (.008 both barrels, can be altered to your specs fr $90 per barrel), file cut, ribs tight, ejectors strong and timed, barrels tight on breech face and hinge like a new gun, 2 3/4" chambers, a perfect set of barrels.

The action is deeply engraved with Monaco #1 style engraving by the most sought after artisans of Creative Art. The full sidelock action is mechanically perfect, coin finished, strong well timed ejectors, crisp double triggers break at 2/75lbs. front, 4lbs. rear, delightfully engraved trigger guard with rolled edge on right side (initials can be removed or altered per your request for a small fee), perfect screws, action tight with lever well to the right, gold cocking indicators, beaded fences, sculpted frame, JUST STUNNING!

The English style stock and splinter forearm are exhibition grade, extra cost walnut with oil finish, nearly perfect, excellent checkering, perfect wood to metal fit, no splits, cracks, or repairs, gold shield inlaid in forearm, 14 3/4" LOP to leather covered pad, 13 3/4" LOP to the end of wood, 2 3/8" drop at heel, 1 3/8" drop at comb, 1/8" cast off (can be altered to your specs within 14 days of purchase), again, simply stunning.

Searching the entire internet, there are zero Piotti Monacos in 28b. being offered for sale and there have not been any in the recent past. Ordering a new one is a process that takes a year or more.
