S/42 mark shows it was made in 1936 at Mauser-Werke AG Oberndorf. Confirmed by "WaA63" mark, below sitting eagle mark. Non- Nazi markings however they are german marks. "imperial eagle" There are 3 matching SN# for the bolt 7565 on the bolt arm, the safety and frame behind the bolt. There are 6 Matching sn# 4742. 2 on the bottom plate, one inside on the spring plate only viewable when bolt is open, one on the barrel, one on the receiver and one behind the receiver. Has a flat buttplate. There is some freckling on the barrell but the bore is in fine shape. High end Redfield adjustable peep hole sights ($100-175 value). Comes with post-market premium leather strap (see Pictures). Dahl sight. This rifle has been drilled and tapped for a scope, holes are closed with screws. a fantastic historical gun, from an era when guns were made right. A great deal at $649.
