This is a Mossberg 44 U.S. 22lr target trainer rifle. The barrel measures appx 26 inches and the overall length is appx. 43 1/2 inches long. This is a U.S. Property marked rifle and does show some dents and dings on the stock, however, the bluing looks excellent and I would rate the metal finish at 99%. The bore is nice and shiny with well defined lands and grooves. The sight is a Mossberg S-130 and this comes complete witha leather sling that may be the original one as it seems pretty old. The leather seems to be in good servicable shape. This does not come with a magazine but they are available all over so getting one should not be difficult. The barrel is marked O F MOSSBERG & SONS, INC. NEW HAVEN. CONN U.S.A. 44 U.S. 22L.R. U.S. PROPERTY. The receiver is marked U.S. PROPERTY SER NO. 165XXX (I am witholding the last three digits for security purposes). This is most likely an old DCM/CMP rifle when they used to have Mossberg 44 rifles in good condition. I do not have any additional gear for this rifle and it comes as shown.
