Here is a well maintained veteran of the Deer Woods of Shelby and Tipton Counties in West Tennessee, an FN manufactured classic Browning B.A.R. Auto chambered in .30-06 Springfield. From its PP serial number letters, it was manufactured in 1988. Surface detractions are moderate, principally a few scours to the left side of the European Walnut buttstock and rear area of the forend. Metal wear is moderate, with brown freckling on the upper left edge of the receiver, less visible on the right lower edge; and with faint amounts of edge whitening to the barrel. We rate this rifle as Very Good finishwise, 80 percent vicinity by our estimate; photos, however, ought to suffice so that our distinguished shoppers can judge finish grade for themselves. It is certainly excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. This rifle comes to us from its exclusive consumer owner. It has been fired fewer than 200 rounds. Specs are gas operated semi-automatic rifle; manufactured by Fabrique Nationale in Herstal Belgium, and imported by Browning Arms in Arnold, MO; 22 inch barrel with Williams alloy ramp type adjustable sights; drilled for scope mounting as the BARs always have been; cut checkered walnut buttstock and forend; 13 3/4 inches length of pull from the trigger face to the end of the buttplate; weight empty 7 pounds 10 ounces; capacity 4+1 rounds of any .30-06 caliber ammunition. Replacement pricing on the BARs with alloy receivers is upwards of $1000 apiece; and you know, they just aren’t the same rifle as this one and its siblings. Buttstock has a nice reddish tint, and the barrel has some classic purplish tint to its bluing.
