Serial number is in the 33,000 range, Produced in 1883. The Model 1876 was the last lever action to be produced in Oliver Winchester's lifetime. It comes with a Winchester factory letter from the Cody Firearms Museum. Of the 63,000 Model 76's made, only 3,100 were carbines. Although full length forends are seen on other carbines occasionally, the Model 76 is the only carbine that had this feature as standard. The action works fine. Barrel is 22 inches long.The cartridge lifter is clearly marked 45-60. Winchester markings and serial number are nicely visible. The wood is excellent shape has a nice finish, no cracks or repairs, only minor handling marks. The metal surfaces show much of the original finish, especially on the barrel. The bore is clean and still has good rifling. These rare carbines are usually never listed for sale and bring a high premium at . You will not find on like it and especially at this price.
