HG1454 This Pistol is not C&R Eligible. Here is a specimen of a briefly made variant of the classic Taurus PT-92, the PT-92 C, stainless steel slide with polished alloy grip frame. These pistols were only manufactured from 1992 until 1996. In the early 1980s until the late 1990s, Taurus stayed traditional with its 9mm offerings, closely following its Beretta progenitors. The Berettas ran their best known specimens of the 92SB Compact from 1986 until 1993, and Taurus followed closely. Since the Israelis recognize quality and value, this Taurus served to protect and defend the citizens of Jerusalem with the Mishteret Y’Israel, the Israeli Civilian Police of Jerusalem District. One photo shows Israeli Police decals that came on a couple of the magazine floorplates from this batch of pistols. The advantage to the Tauruses like this one, was that their frame mounted safety allowed for cocked-and-locked single action carry, and the Department had carried Browning Hi-Powers for years. This one’s safety lever also serves as a decocker so the operator can return to double action mode for the first subsequent shot. This is a well maintained specimen of the Taurus Compact, with only moderate surface and carry detractions. Note that its right side safety lever is armorer replacement matte blue, not stainless. There is a faint amount of buffing and scouring on its sharp edges, and here and there, with moderate pecking on the Brazilian Rosewood grip panels. Left side of the slide exhibits moderate scouring/whitening on that flat surface. We classify it as Very Good condition piece since no more than 20 percent of its surfaces are affected by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is certainly excellent mechanically. We estimate it has digested no more than 1000 rounds of ammunition. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Barrel is 4 inches long, down from the ancestor 92SB’s 5 inch Government size barrel; and the grip frame is 1/2 inch shorter than a conventional 92 Beretta or Taurus. Weight empty is just under 32 ounces. This pistol comes with a factory 15 shot blue steel Taurus Magazine, and it will accept any Taurus 92 or 99 Magazine. Own this eminently serviceable, attractive and collectable Taurus PT 92-C for only $ 319.00. Not transferable to civilians in California, District of Colombia, or Massachusetts.
