He had this rifle made 20 years ago by a Colorado gunsmith who made rifles for the Olympic shooting team. New information from the previous owner is that the rifle was built by Sam Knox of Denver Colorado. He purchased the barrel from Mark Chanlyn who builds barrels for benchresters and has made them for the US Olympic team. Sam Knox was diagnosed with cancer and moved to Texas but his rifles are highly prized by Denver collectors. He could never bring himself to fire this rifle or take it into the field. O3 action. Checkered bolt handle. 3 position wing safety. Hinged floorplate bottom metal. Timney trigger. Checkered steel buttplate. All metal is perfect. Barrel marked 7x57. Rifle weighs 6 lbs with rings and bases. Warne rings and bases are included. Checkering is fantastic. Serial number is 982206. A few small indentations in the stock from handling over the years. Floorplate lugs, barrel lug, back of action and first three inches of the barrel are bedded. Free floated 22 inch barrel. Checkered grip cap. Action has been worked to perfection and feeds like butter. Bore looks unfired. Bolt face looks unfired. Rosewood forend tip. Fit and finish is perfect.
