VERY RARE Plants Cup Primed large frame Army .42 cal revolver, often carried as a personal side arm during the Civil War. Functions very good, has most of so=ilver plate on the large brass frame. Right side grip has an age crack, but grip is solid. Has dents on the cylinder. Overall a very nice and rarely encountered gun. This looks like the third modelBarrel marked: : PLANTS MFG. CO. NEW HAVEN, CT, and on side of barrel; MERWIN & BRAY, NEW YORK.
