Here we have a Winchester Model 1885 High Wall that has been customized by R. F. Sedgley. The barrel is marked R. F. Sedgley Inc. Phila PA USA. The barrel also has the S inside a circle mark that Sedgley used. These markings are on top of the barrel under the scope. The barrel is marked HORNET but it has been rechambered to 219 ZIPPER. The bore is bright and shiny with very good rifling. The scope was made by C. P. Goerz of Berlin Germany. It has a single post for a sight. The stocks appear to be custom made and checkered by Sedgley. They fit the gun perfectly while retaining the stock Winchester steel buttplate. The receiver bluing looks as if it is the original applied by winchester. The barrel was blued by Sedgley. Both retain about 97 per-cent of the blue. The gun is in excellent working order. This is a very nice Model 1885 that was most likely assembled back in the 1930s.
