Spanish Mauser Oviedo chambered for the 7X57 mm shell with a 22" barrel with a good to very good bore. Sharp rifling, and very fine corrosion in the grooves from corrosive primers. The metal on this gun is mostly blue for the action. The barrel bands, trigger guard, and butt plate has more dark, and has corrosion with some pitting inside the trigger guard bow. Action works good, and so does the rear sight. The military crest on the top of the receiver has been removed, and ,blue added, but not ground off, metal is smooth.A handy carbine, with a long history of rugged built guns for military use.Wood is very good, with some finish flaking from storage,and may have had finish added long ago!
