HG5679 From a distinguished collector in Florida comes this very attractive Kimber Royal .45 Auto, model Classic Custom Royal and so marked. This is a first year production from the Yonkers factory. It is Government Size; 5 inch match grade stainless barrel with 16 inch LH twist, and Kimber full length 1 piece stainless guide rod assembly on a 22 pound recoil spring. Construction is entirely blued steel, with dovetailed front and rear black combat sights, skeleton serrated Commander hammer, black alloy serrated face match trigger with overtravel adjustment. Trigger on this pistol gauges 4 1/2 pounds with negligible felt creep from our inspection. Main safety is single side extended with serrated surfaces. Grip safety is matte blue beavertail; and the magazine release is right-hand-shooter with checkered serrated surface. Grips are classic burly walnut with diamond pattern checkering. Other specs are 5.25 inches height; weight empty 35 ounces; total of 2 blue steel 8 round factory Kimber magazines, one marked and one drilled for bumper pads and unmarked. Caliber, of course, is .45 ACP. Surface detractions on this Classic Custom Royal, series 1, are minimal. Left lower edge of the slide shows whitening above the slide release lever, and there is a faint hint of disassembly contact between the slide stop and the left side of the frame. Grip panels show scouring around the grip screw cavities and on their butt edges. We rate this Kimber as Excellent, since no more than 10 percent of its surfaces are affected in our estimation; photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. From our knowledge of its exclusive owner and from its condition, we estimate this pistol has been fired 300 rounds or less.
