Although the No1 is a 1916-1922 design, it continued to be manufactured my the Indian Ishapore factory through the 50's. The quality of the Ishapore rifles exceeded those of early British manufacture in both the quality of steel and finish.

This rifle has all matching numbers [receiver, bolt, nose cap, sight, everything with a number matches]. The stock shows handling discolor but there are no cuts, dents or other marks. What is unusual of this rifle is the finish. It is blued and the bluing is without rust or noticeable wear. Bluing is characteristic of the very early Enfield rifles of WWI. Those manufactured by England in WWII were mostly painted- no time for bluing. The butt stock has the original cartouche of "TDEW" with a vertical arrow indicating Indian ownership. The receiver shows an "F.R." date of 1951 for Indian factory repair. There is a proof mark on the receiver of crossed flags over the letter "p" showing post 1950 Indian ownership which is consistent with use of the number "3" in "Mk3" instead of the English "III". The .303 British barrel is bright with strong groves.

Lay-a-way: If needed I offer a 60 lay-a-way option. It is 1/3 immediately, 1/3 in 30 days and 1/3 in 60 days. Lay-a-way Firearm sales are final. If you fail to close the deal I will hold funds until the firearm is sold. If the firearm is sold for less, the difference will be deducted from the deposit plus 10% for my time, storage and taking the firearm off the market for your lay-a-way period.

SHIPPING: All firearms will be shipped Priority Mail with insurance. Buyer will pay for all shipping and handling costs. The current price for shipping is $40.

LEGAL REQUIREMENT- Modern firearms must be transferred through a licensed FFL dealer in Buyer's area. Buyer must supply to Seller a copy of Buyer's driver license and a copy of Buyer's local FFL dealer's license before shipment will be made. A C&R License is acceptable for C&R firearms.

SAFETY NOTICE- Buyer is solely responsible for determining that the firearm purchased is safe to shoot. By bidding, the buyer agrees to hold seller harmless against damages, injury, or death caused by buyer's failure to have the firearm properly inspected for safety.

RETURN POLICY- All firearms come with a 3-day return policy conditioned upon the firearm being returned in exactly the condition mailed- not being fired , messed with in any way. In the case of a return, buyer pays all shipping charges.
