1884 Springfield Carbine produced in 1889. The carbine has turned to a nice patina and does not show signs of cleaning. The bore is amazing in this carbine, very bright and clean. The wood shows bumps and dings and has initials carved in both sides of stock. They appear to be period marks that were common practice during this time. I do not see a cartouche on the wood.The action is very tight and eveything works well. The hammer screw appears to be a period replacement and the cleaning rod is not present. The rest of the carbine has had not changes that I can see. It has the correct Buffington rear sight, saddle bar, etc. Just a nice honest carbine for the Indian War collector. This is a pre 1898 antique and is not designed for modern ammunition. Can ship to your door with proof of age to States without restrictions. Shipping at cost with insurance, should be around 35.00 or less.
