Description: For Sale: (2) Yugoslavian SKS semi-auto carbines & 500 rds of ammo.

* First SKS is an "unissued" mint 1977 model 59/66 A1.It was covered in cosmo,I did an exterior cosmetic cleaning & swabbed the barrel. The bore has a new mirror finish. I have never fired The SKS,it will need a complete tear down to remove all cosmo before shooting. The Yugoslavian 59/66 A1 SKS,is a modified version of the original Yugoslavian 59 SKS. In 1966 the original design of the Model 59 was modified. A NATO approved 22m/m grenade launcher, flip up ladder grenade launching sight, gas cut off valve that is automatically engaged when the grenade ladder sight is raised, (the gas cut off valve has to be manually disengaged when the grenade launcher ladder sight is lowered and the rifle is returned to the normal cartridge firing mode), and flip up tritium night sights were added on the A1.

Also featured is a 11 1/2 inch under folding blade bayonet, milled and machined parts, and durable hardwood (Beech) stock and hand guard. The main reason that Yugoslavian SKS rifles, in fact all Yugoslavian small arms, seem "beefier", is because Yugoslavian cartridges are much "hotter" loads than other similar "East Bloc" ammo. This combined with the fact that Yugoslavia's manufacturing capacity was relatively limited, each weapon had to be more durable. The Yugoslavian 59/66 A1 SKS Carbine has quality and craftsmanship unmatched by the other European and Asian models. Yugoslavian 50/66 A1 SKS Carbines in the condition of this one are becoming increasingly more difficult to find.

* Second SKS is a very nice, early "issued" 1960's "C" ("B" was late 1950's)coded model 59 yugo (24-34000 produced). These early M59's are scarce. This is a #'s matching carbine & the bore has a mirror finish. I have never fired this one either & it will also need disassembled to remove the cosmo before shooting.

There is one significant difference between the Yugoslavian model and the Russian, Romanian, Albanian, Chinese, and many other SKS carbines manufactured in other countries. Yugoslavia does not have significant deposits of chromium thus the bores of their SKS carbines are not chrome lined. This is combination with the fact that Yugoslavian 7.62X39m/m ammunition is mildly corrosive has led to many of the Yugoslavian SKS carbines having either frosted, or pitted bores. Again, these two have mirror finish bores.

* The 500 rounds of ammo (13 boxes 20 per box) included is WOLF 7.62x39 122 grain HP steel case non-corrosive

* 2 new green original style sks slings included too !!
