.40 CAL ANTIQUE TARGET RIFLE HALF STOCK IN THE OHIO STYLE
Offering for your consideration; an antique muzzleloader, half stock, percussion lock, TARGET RIFLE in .40 Caliber of the Ohio style. The 36 inch length octagon barrel was re-rifled by barrel maker Bobby Hoyt of Fairfield, Pennsylvania and is finished in the brown. The half stock is maple wood with highly figured tiger stripe pattern, a square cheek piece, brass furniture, and a poured German silver nose cap. It appears that the stock was refinished at one time and the lock was replaced with a current L&R period style percussion lock. There are several stock imperfections noted around the ignition bolster from cap ignitions and around the lock mortice where the replacement lock was fitted. There are no stock cracks. This is an attractive period rifle with an excellent bore for the active shooter and/or collector alike, and is offered at a reasonable price.
