Meriden Single Shot 12 gauge shotgun is serialized #2659. It is a top break - hammerless action, field grade 12 gauge C-1906. It has a 28” barrel, a single choke that measures .718, appears to be cylinder bore. Sights are Brass front bead. It has a standard trigger. The receiver / frame is white - hammerless with safety catch. It has a standard forend with a stock that has a 1 ½” crack emanating back from the top tang, but the stock is very sound. Overall the gun is in excellent functional condition. It has an LOP of 14” over a hard rubber butt plate. Some markings are on the side of the receiver “The Meriden Fire Arms Co.”. Meriden was purchased by sears in approximately 1906 and was the only time in sears history that they actually manufactured their own guns. Their guns were a cut above cheap guns sold by other catalogue merchandisers of the time. They had provisions built in to adjust for wear. Overall it is in excellent working condition. FFL required.
