Here is a specimen of Smith & Wesson's Military & Police series, the MP40 Standard 209200 variant with one 15 round magazine, and magazine safety. Photo is representative, but buyer will receive a very similar pistol from the same Department. Dealers, Collectors, and Law Enforcement may take any number of extra M&P 40s we have on hand at the same per-gun price, and with no additional shipping charges. Each pistol served with the distinguished officers of the Policía de Puerto Rico, La Uniformada, the Puerto Rican State Police. All were manufactured and issued in 2009. Weight empty, no magazine, is 24 1/4 oz; weight fully loaded will be a bit over 35 ounces. Overall length is 7 1/2 inches; 5 1/2 inch height; and very nice thin 1.2 inch width. Barrel length is 4 1/4 inches with a 6.4 inch sight radius. Sights are three dot combat type, dovetailed into the slide. This pistol, like all M&Ps, is full time double action, striker fire action, with a very consistent 6.5 pound trigger pull that only travels .300 inches from rest to fire and resets in only .14 inches. It has a firing pin safety, a trigger safety, and a magazine safety. It will NOT fire single shot with the magazine removed. Frame is Zytel Polymer, and barrel and slide are Black Melonite finished stainless. The frame incorporates a Picatinny Weaver type rail for light and laser mounting. Backstrap piece on the grip frame is interchangeable. The M&P series takes all comers for ease of handling, positive feel, and reliability and consistency under the most adverse field and combat situations. Each pistol is well maintained. Surface detractions are minimal to moderate, principally edge whitening and occasional inconspicuous finish freckling on the slide. We rate them as Very Good, perhaps even Excellent, 85 to 90 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to check our grading. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate each pistol has been fired fewer than 400 times, no rounds at all for an M&P 40.
