LG1211 For as long as they have been on the market, we have had excellent service experience, and suitable accuracy experience, with the Rossi Single Shots imported by Taurus-Held Company Braztech in Miami. Brazilian rifle and handgun workmanship has always been excellent. This is a Rossi – Braztech Single Shot Rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle; at one point in its life, it had a 20 gauge barrel that no longer accompanies it. Barrel is 18 3/8 inches blue steel with raised fiber optic red-and-green sights; and the barrel sports its original Weaver / Picatinny type scope mount with an excellent 2 to 6 power, 28mm objective NC Star Duplex crosshair scope. Construction is entirely matte blue steel, with lockable hammer, top mounted breech button, and transfer bar safety mechanism to prevent hammer-bump firing. Stock and forend are attractive checkered high impact black polymer, with checkered Schnabel forend and checkered and lined buttstock. Length of pull is 12 3/4 inches from the trigger face to the end of the butt plate. Overall length is a compact 32 3/8 inches, and weight including the scope and mount totals only 6 pounds with center of gravity at the breech pivot bolt. Surface detractions are minimal, only very faint occasional freckling that is not readily visible, and faint scuffing on the stock. We rate this little Rossi as Excellent, since no more than 5 to 10 percent of its surfaces are affected; photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is certainly excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Replacement pricing on this setup is well over $200 in our area.
