This pistol comes from my personal collection and was never displayed, handled or fired after leaving the factory. The original factory hang tag and case end-labels are intact. This P220MD is both cosmetically and mechanically in 100% perfect condition. The P220MD was both the first P220 to feature an integral Picatinny rail on the frame as well as the first P220 to have been machined from stainless steel. The P220MD slide is stamped "P220 ST" on the right side in large letters. It is stamped on the left side of the slide with "SIG SAUER" and the import notation. The frame is stamped "Frame Made In Germany" -- the slide may also be German made. This is an exceedingly rare SIG P220 variant. It would make a terrific acquisition for the advanced SIG collector -- or an excellent every day carry weapon. The legendary SIG P220 was designed from the ground up to be a robust, full-sized, combat piece. It can be carried with confidence in a concealed shoulder rig because the stainless steel is highly resistant to the type of corrosion that is common to non-stainless steel firearms when they are worn close to the body. The additional weight inherent in stainless steel imbues the P220MD with reduced felt recoil making it both a pleasure to shoot and providing greater accuracy for follow-on shots. The integral tactical rail allows for easy mounting of lights and lasers. The soft, wrap around Hogue rubber grips and finely checkerd front strap assure secure retention under any conditions. The three new P220 stainless steel magazines are furnished with "silent-drop" rubber bumpers and have easy to view round-count holes. Like the P220MD, the P220R-45-SSE has a matte stainless steel finish. Due to it's stainless steel frame it weighs about the same as the P220MD.
