From President Reagan’s Inaugural Year of 1981 comes this 95K prefixed Smith & Wesson .38 Combat Masterpiece Stainless, numbered model 67-1. This is a thoroughly traditional classic Model 67. Sights are White Outline Adjustable Rear and Red Ramp Front, barrel is Bangor Punta era 4 inch Pinned; Square butt grip frame serrated fore and aft; .265 Satin Stainless serrated trigger and matching .375 semi-target hammer; decade appropriate new replacement Pachmayr SK/L grips with Lion Logo; six shot capacity; 32 5/8 ounces weight empty. Action, of course, is traditional double- and single-action with internal transfer bar safety mechanism. The only surface detractions that this 67 shows is possible polishing to the barrel and faint cylinder rotation marking. We rate it as Excellent, since no more than 10 percent of its surface has any kind of contact evidence by our estimate; photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. This is a civilian owned revolver, and it simply has not been fired more than 100 times from our knowledge of its late owner and from its condition. It is excellent mechanically. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap is negligible, only faint carbon residue with no cutting whatsoever. Bore and cylinder chambers are bright, clean, and excellent. Double action trigger pull is smooth and consistent to the hammer engagement point. The hammer travels an exceptional 15 degrees after the cylinder times in all six positions on double action. On single action, the hammer travels fully 35 degrees on all six after the cylinder times, and the single action trigger pull is a crisp original 4 3/8 pounds. Lateral movement to the cylinder is negligible with the trigger relaxed, and with the trigger fully depressed there is no movement whatsoever. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap is a perfect .006.
