HG3679 Serial number on this .45/.410 Contender is 430,000 range, and we estimate it was manufactured in 1993, from its similarly numbered new mates we received that year. It is in its original frame box, one that came with a Super 14 Forend, item number 2305; its exclusive owner's original configuration, however, is as it sits now: 10 inch bull .45/.410 Barrel with internal choke. Surface wear to the metal is minimal, only forend contact on the forward sides of the receiver,and faint whitening on the edges of the muzzle, hammer, and trigger buard / breech lever. Original padded Walnut stock and 10 inch forend have moderate scouring. We rate this Contender as Very Good, close to Excellent, finishwise, since 85 to 90 percent of its original finish is intact by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. This exact variant, of course, is the most famous of all Contenders, since it led to a favorable decision by the most honorable United States Supreme Court in the 1992 United States vs. Thompson/Center. Period correct instruction manual is included. Own this fine Contender for only $ 469.00.
