This is a Colt New Service U.S. Army .38 Special Revolver with a 6" Barrel.The gun is in excellent shape. My understanding from previous owner the gun was factory reblued.The bottom of grip frame is marked US ARMY Model 1917 ARMY Ser No 16XXX AND COLT SERIAL #1689XX.MFT.1898-1942.A ORIGINAL 1917 COLT HOLSTER COMES WITH THE COLT. A BEAUTIFUL COLT AND HOLSTER.
