Description: From its B H H armorer’s marks on its watr table, forend iron, and barrels, we assume this Ranger Double Barrel was manufactured in 1956; either that year or 1950. Most of the Ranger series guns manufactured by Savage after World War II were marketed by Sears Roebuck. It is not, nor was it ever, serially numbered. This solid attractive specimen comes to us from an estate in nearby Decatur County Tennessee, where it took its share of fox squirrel, gray squirrel, and hillbilly rabbit during its late owner’s seasons of hunting. Chambering is for 2 3/4 inch or shorter shells, Proof Tested 16 gauge and so marked on the barrels. Barrel is full length 28 inch blue steel, marked Selected Fored Steel, with .652 Modified Right Tube and .643 Full Choke Left Tube. Receiver is internal hammer, breech cocking, color casehardened, double trigger with Tang Safety. Stock and forend are dark oil finish American Walnut with original red rubber recoil pad, 14 inch length of pull measured from the right forward trigger. Surface detractions are Moderate to Extensive, with strong bluing on the barrels that has whitening on the muzzle area and rib, and extensive but not readily conspicuous freckling. Ribg is double brass beaded. Tubes and chambers are bright, clean, and excellent; and we do not detect any pitting whatsoever. Receiver has some original case color remaining mixed with gun metal gray and brown patina. Buttstock and forend have original checkering visible, with no more than one old refinish by our estimate. We detect no cracks anywhere in the wood. We rate this solid old Ranger as Good, 60 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. We’re offering this locally domiciled Truman / Eisenhower Era Savage Ranger 16 gauge for only $ 359.00. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $20 flat fee lower 48 states; $60 Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, UPS Ground or USPS Priority with full insurance coverage. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
