I bought these new and have used them for cowboy shooting, mostly with my (wimpy) hand loads (200 gr bullet, 600 ft/sec). They are stock except for two changes. I put a Ruger steel ejector rod housing on each. I also added a Wolff spring kit to each; compared to stock that gives them a lighter trigger pull, and makes it easier to draw the hammer back (although the hammer still hits the primers hard enough for ignition-- I use CCI primers in my handloads, supposedly the hardest primers, and the hammers on these guns have never failed to detonate them). I shoot gunfighter style, and I recently bought some New Vaqueros, which fit my hands much better. That is the only reason I'm selling these, not because there is any problem with them. (My 14-year-old son used these, shooting traditional style, to take second place in the young guns category in the PA state match in 2008, just to reassure you that they work fine.) There is some loss of the "case color" finish on the cylinder frame on each; Ruger doesn't seem to make that finish very durable. The blue (on the cylinder, barrel, and grip frame) is fine.
