Type 26 Japanese WW2 pistol. 9mm Nambu.
Excellent condition, ALL numbers match everywhere;even the grips.
Bore is bright and shiny, I can't say if it is arsenal refurbished, I doubt it. The finish is very good no rust. Very solid. Most guns like this (if you can find one)have gouges where people have tried to pry the door to the inner workings open. This is the only one I have seen that does not! It is one of the earlier guns, the serial number being 15XXX.
They started at 10XXX.
The first issue was in 1895. The Japan made about 50,000 of these up untill the 1920's. They were originally issued to their cavalry units non- commisioned officers. They continued using them through WW2. These are very scarce and since Japan has a policy of destroying any WW2 arms they happen to find, It is understandable that so few are available.
The cylinder shows very little signs of wear and the grips are of the CORRECT ones manufactured with the gun, (checkered)
NO importers marks, this was a WW2 bringback.
