From its home domicile in the foothills of the Ozarks, just across the Mississippi River from us in Missouri, comes this specimen of the classic Winchester Model 67 Single Shot. Manufacturer was Winchester Olin of New Haven, CT. Production ran from the early 1930s until the early 1960s. Construction is entirely steel metal, with walnut stock. Type was bolt action Rimfire single shot with pull-knob cocking mechanism and flip over safety that prevents it from firing. Barrel measures 27 inches from muzzle to chamber mouth. Rate of twist is 1:16. Sights are dovetailed beaded blade front, with matching step elevator dovetailed rear, drift adjustable for windage. Metal finish is blue steel, with gold plated trigger and nickel plated bolt and safety collar. Buttstock is plain oil finish American Walnut one piece. Length of pull measures 13 5/8 inches from the trigger face to the end of the serrated factory black polymer butt plate. Weight empty is 5 pounds 8 ounces, with center of gravity midways of the rear sight. Originally blued surface is now mostly brown and gray patina, but the bolt assembly retains perhaps 75 percent of its nickel plating. Stock wear is moderate; note the 1 inch hairline cracks at the back of the receiver in the recess area; these do not show any separation. We rate this rifle in the Good vicinity, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and functional. Bolt operates correctly, but requires holding down to engage the safety. We have test fired this rifle with Long Rifle ammunition, and no hitches at all. From our knowledge of this rifle’s family of ownership, it was manufactured some time in the 1950s.
