Here is something that we always wanted Smith & Wesson to make, and they never made anything like it until the 351PD made its debut at the 2004 SHOT Show. This is the descendant of the .22 WMR Kit Gun, only in an improved configuration with Red Ramp / White Outline Adjustable Sights, 2 inch one piece steel barrel. Capacity is 8 shots of .22 Magnum only, and the lightweight alloy frame is glossy finished on the order of the classic Smith & Wessons of the 1970s. Weight empty is only 18 ounces, just a shade above that of the Smith & Wesson Airweight Chief’s Specials. Note the factory Taurus Boot Grip with logo, and the attractive color casehardened hammer and trigger. For defensive purposes, the 2006 FBI report recommended penetration for effectiveness, and this little Taurus 941 will achieve that better than all other comers with exception of the 351 PD, a fine weapon that is far removed from classic Smith & Wesson finish.
