Before this, I always had trouble keeping zero when using a scope mounted to a standard AK receiver cover. The following is from the Texas Weapons System website: “Keeping your shots on target is what it’s all about. Whether you require the quick target acquisition of a red dot or the range of a magnified optic, the second generation Dog Leg™ scope rail has you covered. Mounted directly over the receiver, the patented Dog Leg™ scope rail with integral dust cover provides optimal balance, generous rail space, and protects delicate optics from barrel heat. The ingeniously simple and rugged design provides a rock solid mount for accuracy and a forward hinged cover with rear cam lock design to preserve the AK’s field stripping qualities.” This system replaces the original dust cover (receiver cover) and the rear recoil spring guide and recoil spring. This system has a locking mechanism which tightly secures the receiver cover to the rear trunnion and restrains motion in three axis for constant zero. Fits AK47 & AK74 variants. Also fits Saiga .308, 7.62x39, 5.45x39, 5.56x45 (.223) and VEPR (except 7.62x54) & RPK models. Does not fit Yugo model AK-47s, PSL models or M85 or M92. Made in the USA. Installation instructions included. This package includes the above Texas Weapons System, part # 32310 as well as two part # 55315 (guide wire & spring retainer) plus a second cam action release button, part # 55310. One of the “release button/guides wire/spring retainer” assemblies has a Wolff spring # 85275, factory standard AK-47 recoil spring. The other “release button/guides wire/spring retainer” assembly has a Wolff spring # 85276, extra power AK-47 recoil spring. The extra power spring reduces felt recoil when firing weapon using regular ammo (122gr to 124gr). The factory standard spring can be used when shooting regular and sub-sonic ammo (220gr), just with more felt recoil with the regular ammo. Either one of these two assemblies directly replaces the factory original rear recoil spring guide and recoil spring. Buying all these parts brand new would cost right at $218 plus shipping.
