From its much carried, but little fired, career with the Israeli Civilian Police, the Mishteret Y’Israel, comes this attractive and serviceable Walther PP pistol chambered in .32 ACP caliber. Barrel marking and 340,000 range number indicates 1964 production, the founding year of the PLO and the First Intifada in the Land of Israel. NW 705 marking on its slide, however, indicates a West German Police Inspection mark, so we estimate this pistol entered Israel after 1967. Manufacturer, of course, was Carl Walther Gmbh of Ulm, West Germany. Model is PP, Polizeipistole, blowback action semi-automatic. Caliber is .32 ACP or 7.65 Browning as the Europeans designate the caliber. Construction is entirely blue steel, with white buffed chamber exterior of the barrel. Barrel is 3 7/8 inch factory six groove right hand 1:16 rifling. Grips are the original factory issue black polymer. Magazine is the original factory issue 8 round flat floorplate variant, total capacity 8+1 rounds of .32 ACP ammunition. Weight empty is 24 ounces, with center of gravity at the trigger guard’s pivot area where the pistol disassembles. Importer marking is in the center of the grip frame front strap as required by federal law. Surface detractions are moderate, principally a scoured spot on the right side center of the slide; with occasional finish freckling, and moderate flattening to the grip panel checkering. We rate this PP as Good, perhaps Very Good, 75 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. Replacement pricing on most any steel construction PP series Walther pistol is well over $600.
