Browning's invention with updates that maintain its status as the leader among experienced hangunners. This is the classic 4 1/4 inch barrel all-steel Colt M1991A1 Commander, catalog #O4691, .45 ACP. This pistol and its identical mates we have are Brand New in their boxes, never transferred outside Colt distribution channels. It's entirely blue steel, 7 3/4 inches overall length, classic combat or Commander hammer, black anodized aluminum combat trigger, 3-dot sights, with attractive traditional Colt Rosewood Double Diamond grips. Its thumb safety is standard configuration, but the grip safety is extended for comfortable, controllable shooting. Aluminum, not plastic, trigger is standard, and all 1991 series Colts, this one included, come with beveled magazine well and two 7 + 1 capacity magazines. Finish, as the photos of an actual stock specimen we had in late 2008 show, is matte blue vertical surfaces with bright blue side features. Grip frame is full size, of course, on the Combat Commander. Only the front end of the frame, the slide, and the barrel are ¾ inches shorter than the Government size.
