Here is one of Henry’s slick made H001 series rifles with an octagonal barrel. This is Henry’s model H001T. Manufacturer is Henry Repeating Arms of Bayonne, New Jersey, production heir to the German Erma and New York Ithaca productions of the 1970s. Construction is Blue Steel Barrel, magazine tube, hammer, trigger, lever, and internal parts built into a glossy coated alloy receiver. Barrel is blued steel octagonal 20 inch, 5/16 across the flats. Bore is eight groove right hand 1:16 twist. Chambering is .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle interchangeably. Inner magazine tube is brass bodied, and the magazine holds 15 Long Rifle or 17 Long; or 21 Short cartridges, so anywhere from 16 to 22 rounds fully loaded capacity. Forend barrel band is fitted black polymer. Forend is classic dark walnut, with straight T style matching walnut buttstock whose length of pull measures 13 7/8 inches from the serrated .275 trigger face to the end of the factory buttplate. Stock drop is the customary 1 1/2 inches at the comb, and 2 1/2 inches at the butt. Its approximately 1 inch right hand cant, coupled with its right side ejection, will not make this a Southpaw Friendly Rifle. Hammer is serrated spur .350; and comes with its Michaels barrel type hammer spur. Hammer has a half cock position, and that constitutes the rifle’s safety. It does not have a firing pin or lever safety. Sight system is dovetailed beaded blade typ front, and two piece dovetailed, semi-buckhorn rear that has dual sided step elevator. Rear sight blade has a single detent screw for windage adjustment. Receiver is serrated top and grooved for 5/8 inch base rings. This specimen comes to us from its local West Tennessee owners. Surface detractions are moderate, principally some finish loss streaks on the receiver sides. Surface wear is otherwise minimal. We rate this Henry as Very Good, 80 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and smooth. We estimate this Henry has been fired fewer than 1,000 rounds, entirely with Long Rifle ammunition.
