Description: Here is a specimen of the much maligned, but actually pretty good quality, Titan Tiger .38 Special Revolvers imported en masse from the 1950s on up to the present day. Corporate genealogy of the Importers were first Eig Cutlery, then F.I.E. / Firearms Import and Export Company, and then E.A.A., European American Armory. EAA, then, has a long and distinguished corporate history. Manufacturer of these good solid revolvers, or at least everything except their frames in some years, was Weirauch in Germany, fondly known to us as Arminius, progenitor of the HW-7, HW-38, and HW-357. This specimen is made somewhat on the order of the High Standard and Dan Wesson Revolvers: steel parts encased in a two piece pot metal main frame and grip frame. Serial number range is 833,000, manufactured in 1975, because we received many of its siblings from FIE during that year. This specimen made its way up the East Coast to North Carolina, where it rested well with its original well behaved owner, then got confiscated by Sheriff’s Deputies a couple of years ago. Surface finish wear is extensive. The original semi-gloss frame finish is down to a matte pot metal gray and flat black. Much of the original bluing remains on the steel barrel, cylinder, serrated service trigger and hammer, and cylinder, with extensive freckling and superficial pitting that affects about 40 percent of the blued steel surfaces. We rate it as Good finishwise, 60 percent vicinity by our estimate; photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves if that matters. This Titan Tiger 4 inch Vent Rib .38 Special is Very Good mechanically. Cylinder times correctly on all six positions in both single and double action; bore, cylinder chambers and mechanism are all bright and clean; and lateral play to the cylinder totals only about 3-4 mm total. While we have seen several of these stand up to protracted firing with high performance ammunition, notably the Super Vel .38 +P loads of the 1970s, we don’t recommend plus P ammo for these revolvers, and FIE never recommended it, either. Note that the grips have been painted with custom Carolina Hillbilly stippling on the upper portion of their backstrap area. We’re offering this historic German Piedmont Domiciled Titan Tiger for only $ 149.00. Not transferable to civilians in California, District of Colombia, Massachusetts, or South Carolina. Elitist phobia among the South Carolina Legislature towards these revolvers and the poor people who owned them helped get South Carolina’s Melt Law passed in 1983.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $10 lower 48; $30 Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, USPS Priority Mail, insured with Delivery Confirmation. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
