This Fabrique National Hi-Power was built after the Heermacht overran Belgium in 1940. The FN plant was seized and the workers were forced to continue those weapons that the Wermacht wanted. This Hi-Power or P-35 as it was known was made in late 1942, then issued to a combat unit. More often than not this would have been the Waffen SS and would have been used on the Eastern Front. This particular pistol has both proofmarks and acceptance maarks form the WaffenAmp on both its frame and slide. it also has the original split floorplate magazine with the correct aluminimum follower as well as the proper walnut grip panels. The sights are fixed and the bore is sharp. The serial numbers are stacked on the right side on the frame, slide and barrel. The numbers have begun to show wear from a perfect frame number to a more worn barrel number, indicating much use. This is a pistol issued to a fighting unit that saw a great deal of fighting. The wear patterns indicate that this was fired often and well cared for. Without a doubt this is a vet bring-back as it has no importation stampings. Even though this pistol has seen much use it is still in execellent shape both mechanically (100%) and visually (92%). This P-35 is 67 years old this year. I sure hope when I'm that age I look as good and function as well as this old warrier does.
