Ruger "Red Eagle" early .22 automatic standard model. This is the rarest of all Red Eagles. It is a Type IV with the flat faced muzzle. Serial 9414. About 98% original blue and in excellent original condition with a perfect 6-groove bore and smooth action. There were only 7 of these pistols known, but now there are 8 counting this one. About 300 total were made, all known guns were made during a 4 day period in late October 1950. This will be the new highest serial number Type IV known, it is 15 digits higher than number 9399 the previous highest number known. It could well be the last one ever made. Ruger factory records show this pistol was shipped out in December 1950. It has the correct early bolt "in the white" and the correct Type 6 magazine. It has the 1/4" diameter safety button. Sorry no box comes with it. More picture on request.
