I believe it was originally built from a Muzzleloader Builders Supply kit, say eight or ten years ago. I believe that there was a problem with the original lock which was replaced with a Siler unit, I think. I put it this way because I got the gun from a friend and was not involved in these details. The pistol is very much like a Light Dragoon with the exception of having a steel loading rod, rather than one of wood. The barrel is 9" in excellent condition and of .67 caliber. Guns America doesn't list a .67, so I checked the closest listing they had, .69 caliber. This pistol is .67! The barrel has a wonderful blue/brown patina to it and the lock is browned. It shoots very well-I killed a turkey with it at about 12 paces a few years ago... I've ordered another pistol in .62 to match a new Trade Gun or I wouldn't be selling this one.
