Special Order Model 1886 Saddle Ring Carbine listed in the Large Madis Winchester Book, Page 319. We also have a Winchester Letter. This is a Personal Gun out of our collection. We can sell it without paper to a NY State resident, otherwise, if sold out of our state of residence, we will need a FFL or a C&R. Serial # 134045, shipped out of the warehouse on May 1, 1906. The rarity of this gun and Madis's explaination of these guns built after the turn of the century ("New Heat Treating Process") helps confirm the lack of original finish on this gun along with the knowledge that this gun has been used over the past 100+ years. Metal is a gray patina on the receiver, lever, hammer, butt-plate and barrel band with some traces of blue and very slight "crowfooting" on left side of receiver. Barrel retains 65-70% Original Finish which is thinning with the Half Magazine Tube (Special Order Feature) carrying 90+% Original Blue. Bore is Excellent, gun is tight and fully functional. Wood is Sound and Solid with some minor handling marks and we feel some areas have had varnish added. No signs of sanding apparent. Most 1886 Carbines we see in are in the five figure ranges. Being a personal gun we are offering a very fair price on this gun. We recommend shooting factory ammo through this gun. No heavy reloads. A Very Rare 86 SRC in an Excellent Shootable Caliber and priced very reasonably for the collectors and enthusiasts. Thanks for Looking.
