This is an exquisite top lever hammer best gun, with oak and leather trunk. Made by Scotland’s premier gun maker of the 19th century. It was made in 1877 signified in a solid gold escutcheon on the stock with the name of the original owner. It is as tight as the day it was made and a wonderful upland bird gun. This gun has beautiful wood, traces of color case hardening with full coverage Celtic scroll engraving. The best John Stanton back action rebounding locks. The trunk is in very used, but good condition for its age with a lower compartment for cartridges. Bores are bright with no pitting. LOP, 14’’ with checkered butt Weight 6lbs. 4ozs.
