Winchester M1 Garand .30-06 rifle. Early World War 2 production serial number 1345-xxx, dates to May-Oct 1943. No import marks.

Parts are a mix of Winchester and Springfield and are detailed below. Most metal parts have a dark parkerized finish. Stock is GI walnut, in very good condition. Nice looking bore with good measurements, detailed below and in photos.

The gun has been disassembled, cleaned, lubricated, and test fired – it shoots great, cycling through a full 8 round clip and ejecting the clip at the end. Parts were clean and dry for photos, coated with oil and greased where appropriate when reassembled.

Parts:

-Receiver: marked “D28291-2” on leg. Excellent condition, absolutely no pitting. Has dark parkerized finish, does not appear to be original. Has rough machining marks, typical for Winchester.

-Barrel: Springfield, marked “SA F6535448 11 54 A216C” with stars and eagle mark along with various other marks, in op rod slot. Bore is bright, crown not perfect but no damage that would affect shooting. ME: 2, TE: 2.

-Op rod: uncut Springfield, marked “D35382 9 SA”

-Op rod catch: Winchester, marked “A”, type used from start of production to August 1943

-Bullet guide: unmarked, no notch

-Clip latch: unmarked, square front

-Follower: marked “11”, a type used by WRA in 1943

-Follower arm: single bevel, has fairly rough surface and punch mark, could be WRA

-Follower rod: long fork, riveted, unmarked

-Bolt: Winchester, marked “D28287-1 W.R.A.”, with hole in underside

-Firing pin: half round, no chrome tip, has punch mark, could be WRA

-Elevation knob: postwar, marked “WCE”

-Windage knob: postwar, marked “DRC”

-Rear sight base: unmarked

-Rear sight cover: unmarked with ribs

-Rear sight aperture: SA or WRA double track type, unmarked

-Trigger housing: WRA, marked “D28290 W.R.A.”, small pad, cloverleaf hole.

-Trigger guard: milled/forged type, marked C-46025-3-SA

-Trigger: late type, no extra hole, unmarked

-Hammer: marked “C46008-1 W.R.A.”

-Hammer spring housing: unmarked

-Hammer spring plunger: with wings, unmarked

-Safety: marked “SA-11”

-Gas cylinder: wide sight platform, flat on top of rear ring. Punch mark on bayonet lug. Finish in very good condition

-Front sight: 0.64 wide, unmarked

-Gas cylinder lock: Beveled front non-grenade launcher type, finish in good condition

-Gas cylinder lock screw: postwar cross slot, grenade launcher valve type, marked “P O”, finish in good condition

-Stock: GI walnut, no cracks. Relatively few dings and gouges, not WRA. Circle P on pistol grip, stars and eagle on left side, “X” on bottom of pistol grip, likely to be HRA. Also marked “6237” on right side. Stock ferrule is the stamped type.

-Buttplate: shows some wear, trapdoor works fine

-Rear handguard: no cracks, appears to be a walnut light colored replacement, has been stained dark

-Front handguard: appears to be GI walnut, unmarked, no cracks, a few dings

-Lower band: post war silver soldered type with roll pin

Sling and two clips (no ammo) are included.
