Manufacturer is Forjas Taurus S.A. of Porto Allegre, Brazil. This Taurus 82 served with an overseas security agency, and Century Arms’s import stamp is on the frame, as required by U.S. Law. From its RA 600,000 range serial number, it was manufactured in the late 1980s or early 1990s. Construction is all steel metal. Type is double or single action revolver with transfer bar internal safety. Chambering is .38 Smith & Wesson Special Caliber, standard and +P interchangeably. Barrel is 4 inch heavy barrel type 1:18.75 rifling with six groove right hand twist. Sights are barrel integral serrated ramp front with frame integral fixed notch rear. Trigger is .390 smooth faced combat, with matching serrated spur target hammer, and lanyard device on the butt of the grip frame. Grips are department issue as the photos show. Weight empty is 32 ounces. Surface detractions are moderate, principally edge whitening with some brown toning on the grip frame and sides of the hammer and trigger. We rate it as Good, perhaps Very Good, 75 percent vicinity finishwise by our estimate; but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate it has been fired fewer than 500 times.
