Burr Bronze Sculpture of a Famous Bear - Old Ephraim This is the 22/40 casting of a magnificent bronze sculpture by Dale M. Burr titled "Old Three Toes". This bronze was cast in 1986 and measures 16.5" H x 26" W x 22" L. The sculpture weighs 60 - 70 pounds. This sculpture depicts the famous bear Old Ephraim chasing his dinner of two Sharp Tail Grouse. Old Ephraim was known to wander from Soda Springs, Idaho south to Weber County, Utah until he finally settled in Logan Canyon, Utah. in the early 1900's grizzly bears were a problem for sheepherders. Old Ephraim developed a reputation for killing sheep. Old Ephraim's tracks were easy to identify because of a deformity on one foot that left him with three toes. The legend of "Old Three Toes" grew bigger with each sheep kill.
