Even though the hard chrome slide variant of Kel-Tec's little P-32 pistol is more popular, this is the most durable of the series, Kel Tec's P32PK, Parkerized with Black Grip frame. While the hard chrome slide has a bit of an edge on resisting contact wear, the hard chrome finish can peel and this one will not peel. This is the most durable variant of the first and most effective pistol Kel-Tec marketed, the P-32 in .32 ACP. The 7.65 or .32 Auto Round is a much more effective penetrator than its larger .380 sibling. The .32 and .380 both go about 850 fps out of a short barrel, and the .380 only outweighs the smaller round 85 grains to 71 grains. .32 ACP will always come nearer penetrating resistant surfaces, take windshields for example. And since almost all handgun rounds are woefully anemic for real combat situations, penetration qualities are key, see the little heeded 1986 FBI report on handgun effectiveness and the myth of stopping power for handguns. While the .32 ACP is not as effective as a .22 Magnum, it is one of the next best rounds. This little Kel-Tec is only .755 thick at the back of the frame, it weighs 8 ounces empty, and it is a very simple full time double action pistol that holds 7 rounds in its factory-issued Mec-Gar brand magazine.
