In an old Southern Warehouse, we ran across a limited quantity of factory Colt Magazines for the AR-15 type rifles. These are 20 rounders, factory Colt and so marked. Most of these from this estate bear a CH marking, looks like a UI until you hold it sideways. Initials are, we are told, for Colt Harvey, one of the principals who developed the AR-15 itself. Others say that UI indicates Okay Magazine company. Floorplates, as the photos show, alternate between 5.56mm and .223 on the Second line of the stamping, but all of them have the Pony, the Rampant Colt. Whatever the case, these are older magazines. The rifle in the photos, not included, has CH Markings and it is an early 1980s SP-1 CAR, serial number SP199000 range. All of them show light to moderate insertion and ejection scuffing on their surfaces, and moderate amounts of carbon on their black cartridge followers. Our best estimate is that these magazines were manufactured in the 1970s, but definitely well before the 1994 Federal Ban period went into effect. For much better prices, we have plenty of GI Mil-spec 20 and 30 rounders, made in the same factory as these, NHMTG brand, Guns America search terms NHMTG Robertson, for lower prices. These mags with the CH marking on their fronts and Pony logo on their floorplates, however, are scarce and collectable. Single mag, onesy twosy price is $59 per.
