Excellent Remington Sportsman 58 SC Skeet Target Grade Semi-Automatic Shotgun in 12 Gauge. Remington’s Sportsman 58 was the first gas operated Remington shotgun, a move away from the previously used Browning recoil-operated design. Remington introduced the Sportsman 1956 and retired the model in 1963. The Sportsman 58 features include: 25 ½ inch vent rib barrel with white front and nickel mid length sight beads; blued finish; spectacular extra-fancy grade walnut butt stock and forearm; fine line checkering on the pistol grip and forearm; Remington black plastic pistol grip with fleur-de-lis pattern and Remington serrated black butt plate; roll engraved receiver with bird dogs flushing three birds from a grassland scene on the left side and three ducks in flight over a lakeside scene on the right side. The Sportsman 58 featured an adjustable gas regulator (“Dial-A-Matic load control”) integrated into the magazine cap so that the operation could be adjusted for light trap loads or heavy duck loads by setting the gas regulator to L for low or H for high. Chambered for 12 gauge, 2 ¾ inch shells. Stamped “SC” for the skeet grade forward of the underside loading port. LOP: 13 ¾ inches. Weight: ~ 7 pounds.
