This Colt 1903 was the last of the series of 1892, 1894, 1895, 1901 and 1903. Since the Colt factory never threw avay anything and all of these revolvers are built on the same frame This one is actually an antique. The frame (to the BATFE this is the firearm)was made in 1893 and thus this is legally an antique with the benifits of a pre 1898 revolver. From the condition od the revolver I'd say that this firearm has had a restoration. The finish is 97+% and it functions perfectly. The chambers are bores straight throught and thus it can safely fire standard velosity .38 Special ammunition. It CAN fire +P and in it's current shape I'd dare to do so with a couple of cylinders. This is a fine old military revolver that served our nation over 100 years ago and will continue to do so for you. It is both a shooter and a collector that one can own with pride.
