Serial 504,312 is shown to be a very rare combination of special order features. It's the only one of its kind in the book. Made in 1909, it has the rare half-magazine, a crescent buttplate, a gold bead front sight, the Carbine rear sight, proof marks on barrel and receiver, the correct saddle ring and the rare caliber 38-55 barrel stamp. The barrel has 80%, or more, original finish, receiver about 60% original finish, and some visible case colors on the lever and hammer. Wood is in good shape, having been nicely varnish-refinished long ago, before I acquired it. Wood is still "proud" in most places. The bore is very good (i'd say about an 8)and the action is smooth and tight. A nice, rare, addition to your collection, having been authenticated by George Madis before entering in his book. NRA Antique grade: FINE.
Schwing's grading system: GOOD
Priced attractively at $2650. with Special Ordered features
