Blue with casehardened frame and loading gate.All matching SN which are also on right side of front and rear grip straps under the grips. Assembly no. 436 on loading gate and rear of frame. Triangle VP on left front trigger guard bow and S on left rear bow. Each of the hard rubber grips has a 357... SN range on the inside which has been scratched over but is readable.On the base of one of the grips is scratched in very faint letters "W94-264 th". Colt letter indicates it was assembled in 1952 and sold to the Colt Loan Account Advertising Manager R.B. Almy. In June 1955 it was shipped to a Production company in Chicago. Overall it is in about 96% condition with a cylinder drag line, minor blue thinning on the rear of the cylinder, high point wear at the muzzle and end of the ejector housing and two small dings on the front of the frame. There is an area of mottled bluing on the bbl. near the muzzle on the left side where it appears to have come into contact with a liquid that has left the blue thinned and irregular, about 1 1/4 in.long.( Not pitted or rusted). According to Wilkerson's book 338 of these revolvers were assembled from pre war parts.
