SS# 1xxx From a mid-west estate sale a WWI German Luger 7.65mm cal. At the sale they said this was an original early production gun with no shoulder stock attachment on the frame. The wood grips are in excellent condition with no cracks or chips and only a few pressure dents (see photos). The metal finish is also good with some wear (see photos) and all appears to be original except the clip. I am not a collector or an expert and know very little about this type of gun (therefore I took photos of every mark or stamp I could find on the outside of the gun but don't know how to take it apart). At the sale the only other information about the gun was that the entire collection belonged to a friend of the family and that it had been in the family for a long time. After close inspection the gun seems to function perfectly, has a great bore and should be a accurate shooter. This gun is in excellent mechanical condition, but shows signs of normal use (this gun is over 100 years old). The WWI German bank notes are original and not reproductions but I don't know how to read German so I don't know what they are. The Leslie's Illustrated Weekly Newspaper is dated January 7, 1915, is original, not a reproduction and has 25 pages with many war photos. The old lead soldier is painted white. We trade guns.
