It featured an adjustable wide trigger, hand-honed action, adjustable target sights, flat grooved top rib on the slide, and many other refinements as standard. Today, the Colt Gold Cup is known as the finest shooting automatic in the world, and is the standard for competition guns. Manufacturer is Colt Industries of Hartford, CT. Construction is stainless steel, with Colt Pachmayr wrap around checkered surface two piece grip. Both magazines are 8 shot stainless with Colt Logos. Trigger is skeleton type three hole, .350 wide serrated face with overtravel adjustment. Barrel is 5 inch six groove 1:16 match grade. Each Gold cup is furnished with full strength recoil spring for standard and high velocity ammunition, and a lighter spring for match grade loads. Sights are blue steel, dovetailed front with windage and elevation adjustable rear, Elliason style but with three dot configuration. Hammer is skeleton Commander type, mated to a beavertail grip safety. Replacement price on this pistol in our area is $1500 or more, if a person can even find one.
