They made 7,000 of these in 1992-93. These carbines came without the tang safety and rebounding hammer, they were made right! This rife was refinished as an original Winchester by a fellow named Allan Mack, I believe out of South Dakota, see picture of letter, there is also a Browning letter. The wood has been taken down and finished in an authentic manner. The receiver hammer and lever have been bone charcoal color case hardened. Barrel and magazine tube rust blued, remaining parts charcoal blued. This guy new what he was doing. This is a one of a kind piece and could not be duplicated for asking price.
